PSYC375 Applied Research in Psychology

Psychology is a broad and dynamic field that spans numerous domains of human thought, behavior, and experience. Professionals working in the field of psychology are often called upon to investigate complex questions and develop evidence-based plans to address them across a range of contexts. A critical part of this process is knowing how to locate and evaluate relevant research, identify appropriate tools and data sources, and select a research design that fits the question at hand. Equally important is the ability to recognize how diverse populations and cultural contexts shape both the questions researchers ask and the plans they develop to answer them. Throughout this process, adherence to ethical standards ensures that research is conducted responsibly and with integrity. The goal of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to explore and apply these foundational research skills as they investigate topics relevant to the broader field of psychology.
